Synopsis : Paris, City of Light... Its urban uproar, its blocked avenues, its history, its museums and famous monuments... Who would imagine that under the Parisians’ feet another city extends: one of darkness and silence, from a forgotten past? More than 30 meters under the earth, a network of underground galleries spreads over nearly 300 kilometers. From the French revolution to the Battle of Paris during WWII, many events have taken place down below. Many artists have immortalized their works and some impassioned, true urban speleologists have explored each corner of these depths. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the transmission of knowledge from generation to generation has perpetuated the history of each room and gallery. In "A Walk below the Souls", these explorers invite us to go down with them and walk in their footsteps, making us go through a true initiatory experience: "our first trip". From the geological manifestation of “the jellyfish room”, to the historical vestige of the German bunker, the fountain of the Carthusian monks, and through the innumerable frescos and sculptures which line the quarries’ tunnels, the visit will be thorough and commented by our essential guides.
